DECORATING YOUR THANKSGIVING TABLE USING ITEMS FROM THE GROCERY STORE
Setting a table for a large gathering like Thanksgiving dinner can be intimidating and expensive but it definitely doesn’t have to be. I put together this table a few weeks ago for our anniversary dinner at home and it dawned on me that it was perfect for Thanksgiving! I apologize for the iPhone photos, I wasn’t planning on sharing these, but I thought it would be a great last-minute option for those who need an affordable and approachable decorating plan that will really impress your guests next week!
I kept this super simple and picked up almost everything I needed at the grocery store. So when you make your Thanksgiving grocery run, be sure to throw these three things in your cart:
1. Winter squash (I used buttercup squash)
2. Seeded eucalyptus
3. Taper candles
I used candle holders that I already had, but if you don’t have any around the house you can pick up some super affordable options at places like Ikea and Target or splurge on a set that you can save and use year-round for different occasions. Taper candle holders are one of my favorite items to decorate with because they are so versatile. I have linked a few below at different price points in case you need to grab a few before next week(I even found a vintage set like the ones I have and LOVE)!
To set the table, I simply cut the eucalyptus into pieces, scattering it down the center of the table to mimic the look of garland. I then placed the candles along the table and nestled 4 buttercup squash in the “garland”. And that’s it-super simple and festive!
